Unique Mediaeval town house, memorial to John Knox, Scotland's religious reformer, and one time home of James Mossman, goldsmith to Mary Queen of Scots. The house retains many original features, including an early 17th century painted, wooden ceiling. Situated half way down the Royal Mile at the site of the Netherbow Port - the original gateway to the city. John Knox House forms part of The Netherbow Centre, which comprises a cafe/ restaurant, theatre and gallery. |
