Edinburgh Castle is perched on an extinct volcano and the site of an Iron Age fort. Among the many things to be seen in the Castle are the Great Hall; the Honours of Scotland and accompanying exhibition; the great siege gun, Mons Meg, and the tiny room where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to her son who was to become James VI of Scotland and I of England. |
